Honda NSX Mugen RR

When discussing exotics and luxury cars, Honda is rarely a name brought up. Acura makes a decent attempt with their pseudo luxury sport sedans, but a product that is mass produced lacks the soul I look for in an automobile. But Honda has one name in their line-up that gives even the greatest of cynics (myself) goosebumps. The NSX.

There is very little known of the concept NSX RR that was revealed at the 2009 Tokyo Auto Salon. It is rumored to contain a naturally aspirated, five liter, v10 engine, but until we receive official word from Honda, that is all speculation.

This may all be for nothing however, as Honda has put the brakes on production of the 2010 NSX due to cuts in funding for projects that are not the most profitable. In short, Honda is concentrating on their soul-less, bland, and cheaper cars, and, for now, keeping their one true sport car, hidden inside their factory walls.

I spent 15 hours in a ’98 Civic sedan this weekend driving to St. Louis and let me tell you, Honda’s bland, cheaper cars have a tremendous amount of soul.
